Florida CPA Exam Requirements


Education Requirements
Credit Requirements: 120 semester units (180 quarter units) are required in the Florida to sit for the CPA Exam. 150 semester units (225 quarter units) are required for licensure.
Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree
Additional Requirements: 24 semester units in accounting (above introductory level) and 24 semester hours of general business courses, including a minimum of 6 semester units in business law

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS
Citizenship:
U.S. Citizenship is not a Florida CPA exam requirement.
Minimum Age: There are no Florida CPA requirements dictating a minimum age limit.
Additional Requirements: There are no Florida CPA exam requirements to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state.

License Requirements
Social Security Requirement: Yes
Education Requirement: 150 hours including Bachelor's Degree
Participates in International Exam Program: Yes
Experience Requirements: 1 year experience in public accounting, government, industry or academia and must be verified by a licensed CPA (this experience can be obtained prior to the application, while sitting for the exam, or after passing all four parts of the exam. However, requirements to sit for the exam must be met before work experience commences).
